ROSE CITY NEWS – 2012
Rose City DDA Façade Program for 2012:
The City of Rose City’s Downtown Development Authority (DDA) has created a building improvement grant program for buildings located within the DDA District.
The intent of the Rose City DDA’s Façade Program is to provide financial incentive for improving the exterior appearance of buildings within the DDA. The Rose City DDA believes the best approach to creating a vibrant community is through a collaborative effort with local stakeholders in revitalizing, refreshing, and rediscovering Rose City.
The Rose City DDA launched the Façade Program in the Spring of 2011. Six (6) projects were awarded Façade Program funding for a total investment by the DDA of $2,440.00. These projects ranged from painting, siding, new doors, & signage. The Rose City DDA proposes to make $7,500 available to approved applicants during the 2012 Façade Program cycle. The 2012 Façade Program is providing grants up to $750 in materials for eligible projects.
The Rose City DDA is targeting to announce selected projects by May 1st, 2012 with project completion by December 31st, 2012.
At this time the City is looking for a representative for Rose City on the… Continue reading
ROSE CITY NEWS – 2011
The Decorating Committee: The Posy Patch was very successful this year. We will be doing it again next year, so be thinking about a display to be featured in the Park entrance so that the community can enjoy your creativity. We have purchased large snowflakes for the Big Christmas Tree that will be lit during the Tree Lightning Ceremony on November 30, 2006 at 6:30 p.m. We are also raffling off lighted reindeer and selling Christmas ornaments during this event. We would like to thank those who gave us donations and all the hard working people who helped water the flowers and plants, decorated our town, and who cleaned and weeded our flower beds. Dorothy Teeples
The Park Equipment Committee: There is a Million Can March going on in Rose City headed up by Richard Dooley and Dave Fultz. In February we had a Sweetheart Social Talent Show it was a great success. Thanks to all the people who helped make it happen. We have raised approximately $16,000.00 and got a matching grant for $14,443.00 from GameTime. We would like to thank everyone who has given us donations for our playground; your generosity is greatly… Continue reading
